Learn to Knit a Cabled Scarf Class

Have you seen the popular Sophie Scarf? We will be stepping it up a bit with a cabled version. Come let Sue show you how to take a basic design and elevate it!

1. Skills required for this class

• Casting on and binding off

• Knit (K) and Purl (P) stitches

• Reading a basic knitting pattern

2. Class Goals:

• Learn how to knit cables using a cable needle

• Understand how to read cable charts and written instructions

3. Tools & Materials Needed:

• Yarn: Worsted weight in an alpaca or alpaca blend is best for this scarf. DK and fingering weights will work as well. Please make sure you have the appropriate needles for your yarn size. This scarf takes 100g of yarn.

• Knitting Needles: US size 2.5 (3mm) for worsted or whatever gauge you are wanting. The smaller the needle, the tighter the knit

• Cable Needle
